Who We Are

Founded in 1997, on the basic principles of consensus-based empowerment and non-violence, we have continually expanded our services to assist all those living with or escaping from abuse.HDVS seeks to provide service and support to those experiencing domestic violence and to foster social and systemic change through services, education and advocacy.

HDVS is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that is governed by a volunteer board of directors and administered by an executive director, who oversees the staff and services provided to clients. The membership of the HDVS Board of Directors is comprised of business professionals, domestic abuse survivers, and individuals who have a committment breaking the cycle of domestic abuse.

HDVS staff are trained and prepared to assist clients as they transition out of a domestic abuse environment. All services provided by HDVS staff are confidential and conducted in a safe and secure environment.

HDVS is a member agency of United Way of Humboldt County.
